“Blind” means temporarily withholding the card’s identity and interpretive cues. It does not mean that an app chooses the card, that every bias disappears, or that the practice proves prediction.
Draw physically and conceal
Draw from a physical deck without reading the face. Preserve the identity with a code, envelope, opaque sleeve, helper, photograph, or another method that keeps it available for later.
Return the card or secure it
Shuffle it back in or store it according to your chosen method. The important constraint is that the identity remains withheld for the declared delay.
Live without guessing
The practice is not a riddle. Go do the work, relationship, conflict, play, rest, or ordinary tasks that make up the day.
Record before reveal
Write what actually happened, what mattered, what was felt or done, and what remains unresolved. Do not rewrite this account after seeing the card.
Reveal: name first, interpret second
Record the card name and orientation before opening a guidebook or interpretation source. Naming first helps preserve what was observed at the threshold.
Compare without forcing
Choose clear resonance, partial resonance, no clear fit, contradiction or tension, or uncertainty. All five are valid outcomes.
Learn, release, and return
Keep only what appears useful. Close the reading and return to the shared world. Reflection completes a cycle; it does not replace the next act of living.
Default rhythm and personal choices
The foundational cadence is a next-day reveal. A reader may choose another consistent delay, but should declare it before the draw rather than changing it to suit a result. Any physical deck and any named interpretation source can be used.
When the sequence breaks
Accidental reveal
Mark it plainly. Do not pretend the draw remained blind. You may keep the entry as a non-blind observation or start again on a future day.
Missed pre-reveal record
Do not reconstruct evidence more confidently than memory supports. Mark the missing stage and resume the practice without inventing a clean record.
Unreadable or lost code
Record that the identity could not be recovered. An unresolved draw is a valid outcome; do not use additional cards to manufacture closure.
No fit
Preserve it. A no-fit entry is not a failure that must be explained away. It is part of an honest archive.
Boundaries and responsible use
The practice is reflective, not a substitute for medical or mental-health care, legal or financial advice, emergency services, consent, or responsibility for high-stakes choices. A card may add a perspective; it does not take possession of the day.
